1. Action Items: Cathy Hinkfuss
   
   • Introduced Mike Neumann from Johnson Controls
   • Progress on developing WiSE TAG membership packet: Packet is coming along very well with color, logos, and packet package. Rochester packet is being used as an example and we will request a dozen copies from Rochester.
   • Follow-up with Lynette Noble about NCW: There is no policy about helping with NCW.
   • Send e-mail to M. Doyle to forward to Milwaukee section:
   • Thank you notes sent to the Fire Department for their program.
   • Get list of ACS speakers/workshops.
   • Write welcome letter for membership packet: In process.
   • Update SOP's to reflect position's duties: In process.
   
   
   
2. Community Service: Allen Pinchard/Pam Chvilicek
   
   • Racine Make a Difference Day
     • WiSE Tag participated in the construction of North Beach Playground. Allen Pinchard coordinated this initiative.
   • 4th Annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk (Benefit for the Arthritis Foundation)
     • Allen will solicit TAG members to participate or donate money for this event.
   • Adopt -A-Family
     • Pam Chvilicek is coordinating the effort to participate in the Adopt-A-Family program. Our members have been asked to donate time or money to help bring some Christmas cheer to a needy family.
   
   
   
3. National Chemistry Week: All
   
   • 2003 theme was Atmosphere and Beyond and about 200 children attended at the Children's museum.
   • Cathy and John performed experiments and the children especially like the lighting of hydrogen balloons.
   • 2004 theme is Health and Wellness.
     • Two suggested ideas for this event are a demonstration of the harmful effects of smoking to young children and devise an experiment to illustrate the effects of eating a balanced diet vs. fast food. We welcome any other suggestions you have. Please contact Allen Pinchard, phone (262) 260-2868.
   
   
   
4. Education: Lisa Hemple
   
   • Lisa presented information on "presenting data and info" workshop.
   • Lisa asked for ideas for education programs and help with them.
   • A training event will be planned for April.
   
   
   
5. Career Fair and MATC Initiative: Al Pinchard and John Engelman
   
   • Allen has been added to the MATC Chemical Technology advisory board.
   • Conducted a round table discussion of the issues related to the Career Fairs. WiSE TAG fully supports the promotion of "Technician" as a career choice and our future goals will include annual participation at local career fairs. Details regarding staffing and audio/visual materials will be discussed at a meeting TBD.
   
   
   
6. Membership: Al Pinchard
   
   • Allen passed out revised membership applications and WiSE TAG membership list.
   • Cathy Hinkfuss will be membership chair for 2004.
   • Membership Chair will contact MATC (Chemical Technology) to ask for a list of graduates/alumni.
   
   
   
7. ACS/Tech updates: John Engelman
   
   • All past Chairs of Division of Chemical Technicians (TECH) will be invited to attend the National meeting in Philadelphia for 2004. Also past winners of the National Chemical Techician Award will be invited to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of TECH and the Committee on Technician Affairs.
   • John discussed events planned for the National meeting.
   • Milw. ACS will host 2006 Regional meeting and has asked WiSE TAG to help.
   • Milw. ACS has asked for donations of used instruments for schools.
   • Next meeting will be in Anaheim CA and Lisa Hemple will be the delegate from WiSE TAG. There will be a Diversity and Interpersonal Relations Symposium.

   • John said give me the money!!!
   • John asked for budget proposals for next year's budget and he willl put them into a spreadsheet.
   • He will work with the treasurer of Milw. ACS board.
