Neal repairs all types of glassware and equipment for teaching and research. He constructs new equipment, makes graded seals and metal to glass seals. He works with quartz and other special types of glass. Work involving silver coating, large diameter glass tubing requiring lathe-work, cutting, polishing and grinding, and additional other glass work. Neal provides consultation and design, fabrication, materials, workability and general feasibility of glass equipment. He also teaches basic scientific glassblowing skills offered in a Spring semester course to graduate students.
