Present:
- Tony Antony, Jackie Behnke, Diana Bergmann, Bud Douthitt, Kevin Glaeske, Dimitri Gorjestani,, Claudia Jordan, Tom McLinn,, Beth Shepard, and Alan Thompson.
Minutes:
- The minutes for the previous meeting were approved as read.
Treasurer:
- Beth said the budget is updated and the only thing missing is postage for the election.
Chemical Education:
- Tony reported that April worked well for giving the Teacher of the Year award.
Continuing Education:
- Jackie asked people to consider topics for future courses. It was stated that the section made 650.00 on the last short course.
Membership:
- Diana Bergmann reported that there had been one renewal in the last three months and that she was working on a database of members.
Milwaukee Section Award:
- Bud has three candidates for this year's award.
National Chemistry Week:
- Tom Holme led discussion on the need for a committee to run the section's NCW. Also, it was mentioned that national was thinking about moving NCW to October so as not to compete with elections in the second week of November.
Project Seed:
- Jackie reported that the project was looking for mentors.
Amalgamator:
- Alan is looking into using seals for the Amalgamator, which would save us some money. Also, the tax-exempt number will give us back some money. Finally, the Amalgamator has a new advertiser.
Councilor:
- Their report is on page 14 of the May Amalgamator.click here for on line version.
Chairperson-elect:
- Tom reported that he would be getting a list of speakers from national sometime in June.
Old Business:
- Jackie said that she had talked to John about starting a TAG group within our section. She said that it would be a while before he gets a proposal to the section asking for seed money. The membership directory was also discussed. There is a problem with putting names into the directory without people's permission.
