2012 Candidates for Office
Ballots for the 2012 elections need to be postmarked no later than May 23, 2012.
You may bring your ballots to the May Dinner meeting on May 23 if you wish or mail them in as
instructed prior to the meeting. In 2012, there are positions open for
Chair-elect 2013, Chair Elect 2012, Treasurer, Secretary, Councilor and Alternate Councillor.

Michael Schuder is Associate Professor of Chemistry and Associate Dean, College of Natural Science, Health Science and Business at Carroll University. He received his BS from North Dakota State University in 1984 and PhD from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1991. His research interests have been in the study of high resolution IR spectroscopy of weakly bound complexes and more recently in the area of atmospheric chemistry and pollutants. Mike has served as NCW coordinator for the Milwaukee Section for three years and is currently on the Chemical Education committee. He has served on three ACS Exam Institute test committees and chaired the 2009 General Chemistry Committee. Mike has been very active in the ACS undergraduate program and served on the ACS National Undergraduate Task Force from 2006 - 2010, chaired the undergraduate program at the 238th National ACS meeting, and advised the Carroll chemistry club for 17 years.

Holger Foersterling is an NMR specialist in the Department of Chemistry at UW-Milwaukee. He received his Diploma in Chemistry at the Philipps Universitaet Marburg, Germany in 1991. Subsequently he studied Organometallic Chemistry in the group of Dr. Craig Barnes at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN, where he graduated with a Ph.D. in chemistry in 1996. He was then working on bimolecular NMR as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Christian Griesinger at the Goethe Universitaet Frankfurt, Germany before moving to Milwaukee in 1998. He has been a member of the American Chemical Society since 1992. He served four terms as local section secretary from 2004-2007 and has again been serving in that position from 2010 through 2011. He is also maintaining the section's web page.

Cynthia McLinn

Cynthia McLinn is a chemistry and Project Lead the Way teacher at St. Joan Antida High School in Milwaukee. She obtained a B.S. in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Albany in 1979 and an M.S. in Engineering Management from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1998. Prior to teaching, Cindy was an analytical chemist at Miller Brewing Company for twenty years and at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. As a member of the American Chemical Society, she most recently served on the education committee and has previously held positions as treasurer, Amalgamator editor, and GLRM co-chair.

Kevin Glaeske

Kevin Glaeske is an Associate Professor of chemistry at Wisconsin Lutheran College. He received bachelor's degrees from Beloit College (1988) in both Chemistry and Classics. Upon graduation, he studied synthetic organic chemistry at the University of Utah under the direction of F.G. West. He received his Ph.D in 1995 and was called to teach at Wisconsin Lutheran College the same year. He has served the Milwaukee section as Secretary, Treasurer and Councillor.

Steve Levsen

Steve Levsen has been a member of the American Chemical Society for 21 years and has served the Milwaukee Section as Chair elect in 2002 and Chair in 2003. Steve is an Associate Professor of Chemistry and Program Director at Mount Mary College and is also an adjunct faculty member at both Marquette and Carroll Universities. Prior to attending graduate school Steve also worked at Aldrich Chemical in the Sheboygan facility. Steve earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Marquette University in 1997.
